about

I’m Rebekah, a writer and social worker.

I began my career in commercial publishing, spending six years selling audio, serial and international rights across both adult and children fiction and non-fiction lists. It was a front-row seat to the world of books, where I developed a love for stories that can be recognised across borders and cultures. However, during the pandemic, I wanted to engage more directly with social justice, leading me to retrain as a social worker five years ago.

Today, I’m a paediatric oncology hospital social worker, a role that’s reshaped the way I view resilience and trauma. This new perspective has naturally found its way into my writing.

I hold a First-Class MA in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway, University of London, and an MSc in Advanced Relationship-Based Social Work Practice with Children and Families from The University of Lancaster. I’m also currently training in systemic practice.

I write both realist and speculative fiction, for young adults and adults, often delving into themes of family, relationships, and the systemic forces that can reshape our lives. I am editing my debut new-adult fantasy novel, which I plan to query Autumn 2026. My short stories have been published and recognised in several competitions, more details on those can be found on my publications page.

I’m from Somerset, UK, originally, but now call home South East London. When I’m not writing, you can find me rolling around on a yoga mat or hunting for some cold water to swim in.
